Add a piece of Dutch East Indies history to your collection.
This banknote, also known as NICA-money, carries a fascinating story. It was printed in 1943 by the world-renowned American Bank Note Company on behalf of the Dutch government in exile. While the archipelago was occupied, these banknotes were manufactured in the United States to immediately restore a stable monetary system after liberation.
The texts on the banknote, both in Dutch ("Vijftig Nederlandsch-Indische Gouvernementsgulden") and in Indonesian ("Lima Poeloeh Roepiah"), bear witness to its unique colonial history.
